Koutsioulis Nikos
Nikos Koutsioulis was born in the city of Larissa. He began his studies in guitar in Larissa and continued them at the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki, from where he received his diploma with an excellent grade from the diploma class of Lambros Bekios. In parallel with his studies at the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki he attended guitar seminars as a listener and as an active student with soloists – teachers such as DavidRussell, Tomas MullerPerring, Hubert Kappel, Aniello Dessiderio, LeoBrouwer MarcoSocias, J. Cleangz, Mar Cleyc, MarY , Ricardo Gallen Costa Kotsioli Mrs. .. He holds a degree in Harmony. He has participated in concerts with other guitarists, chamber music concerts as well as in solo recitals in various cities such as Thessaloniki, Katerini, Larissa, Veria, Komotini, Cyprus, London etc. In the year 2000 he won the first prize in the competition of the 2nd winter guitar festival of Volos. In the summer of 2000 he was a guest of the Cyprus International Guitar Festival as a member of the guitar orchestra of the Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki “DIACHORDOI”. As part of the same Festival he participated in a recital of young guitarists. He also performed with the same orchestra in London, at the Penton Guitar Society guitar competition. In the summer of 2001 he won an honorary commendation (4th in the Ranking Series) in the competition of the 6th International Guitar Festival of Corfu. In the winter of 2001 he received praise for qualifying for the semifinals of the Panhellenic Guitar Competition in Chalkida. From 2002-2008 he was a member of the guitar competition committee for ages up to 16 at the Veria International Guitar Festival.
In the years 2003-05 he attended and completed the postgraduate program of classical guitar of the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with the internationally renowned soloist and guitar teacher Costas Kotsiolis. He is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Department of Mathematics), as well as a holder of a postgraduate degree in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics and Technology of EAP with honors. He has taught guitar lessons from 1992-1996 (Pentagram Conservatory of Thessaloniki) 1997,1998 (Municipal Conservatory of Veria, Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki), 2000-2010 Music school “Octava” of Larissa, at the Music School of Larissa as an hourly wage- associate professor. He also worked for many years as a mathematics teacher in secondary schools. Since 2006 he has been appointed as a mathematician in secondary education, while since 2010 he has been a mathematician at the Music School of Larissa. From 2011 until today he teaches guitar at the Modern Conservatory of Larissa (S.OL.). Also since 2015 he is a member of the committees in the competitions A, B, C category of the Volos International Guitar Festival.
